EP TOWNSHIP:

Cheri Matter brought a few items to our attention to see if the Ministerium had any interest in participating in these activities.  The annual Kid's Only Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, June 6, from 9AM to Noon.   The Summerdale Centennial Parade is scheduled for September 19th at 2:00 PM and the township is looking for groups to particiapte in the parade.  The Schaner Senior Center is open to all seniors of our community;  it would be helpful for churches to advertise the center so that more seniors might participate.

LENTEN LUNCHES:

The following schedule has been set for the rest of the Lenten Lunches:

March 4 - Chuck Hiller

March 11 - Joe Gentilman

March 18 - Eldon Byer

March 25 - Gwenn Trout

April 1 - George Jensen

COMMUNITY PLANNING:

Gwenn Trout reported on the Community Planning meetings that have been held over the past several months.   As the group has discussed the needs of the local community, they have begun to identify the myriad of resources available within our community and county.  For more detailed information about these meetings and resources, please contact Gwenn Trout.

GENERAL DISCUSSION:

With the current economy and job market situation, it will be inevitable that our churches and the Ronny Powley Center will have an increase is request for help.  How are we to help?  Can we help?  Do we have the resources to help?  These are all questions that face each of us as individual churches and as a ministerium.  With New Hope Ministries moving into the East Pennsboro Township, most present are concerned at how this will impact the Ronny Powley Center and question if we are to send requests to their attention.  Rick Shell made a motion that Eric Saunders (executive director of New Hope Ministries) be invited to our next meeting in March; motion seconded by Joe Gentilman.  All presented voted affirmatively.  Gwenn Trout will extend the invitation to Eric Saunders.

The NEXT MEETING is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 1PM following the Lenten Lunch at Summerdale UMC.
